Mental Health Advisory Team

In the 2025 TN State Convention, I appointed a Mental Health Advisory Team to help us develop resources to assist our pastors, their families, and our local churches. I would like to introduce you to the team.

Rebecca Gilliland - Rebecca Gilliland, A-LPC/MHSP, holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Lee University and is currently completing her Ph.D. in Mental Health Counseling at Belmont University, with an anticipated graduation in 2028. She has served in pastoral ministry alongside her husband, Bishop Joshua Gilliland, for more than 17 years and is passionate about helping people experience healing, freedom, and a deeper relationship with God.

Rebecca and Bishop Joshua pastored the Church of God of Prophecy congregation in Langen, Germany, for 17 years before relocating with their family to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, in 2025. They now serve together at Restoration Fellowship, where Joshua is the Lead Pastor and Rebecca continues to minister through teaching, discipleship, and counseling.

Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Rebecca also served for six years as a school counselor at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, where she had the privilege of supporting students and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Her counseling ministry is shaped by a heart for integrating biblical truth with sound clinical practice, helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges with compassion, wisdom, and hope.

Rebecca and Joshua are also the proud parents of four wonderful daughters.

Dr. Milton Gordon - Dr. Gordon has a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry, a Doctor of Ministry in ministry with counseling and conflict resolution emphasis, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He has served as a counselor in various agencies in the past 35 years, including Volunteer Behavioral Health, Christian Psychological and Family Services, Vocational Rehabilitation Services in Tennessee, TAFT Youth Development Center for incarcerated youth in Tennessee, Mirror Lake Alcohol and Drug Residential Center, Youth Villages In-Home At Risk Youth, Lois DeBerry Special Needs Correctional Facility, and now in his private online counseling service. Dr. Gordon has counseled with two of these agencies (adult and adolescent/teen) as a Crisis Intervention Specialist assessing and consulting with medical staff on the care and aftercare of suicidal/homicidal patients.

Dr. Gordon has extensive and varied experience counseling in church settings, receiving referrals from pastors for individual, couple, pre-marriage and marriage counseling. He has training, experience, and skills in counseling clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, suicidal tendencies, family conflict, domestic violence and adolescent dysregulated and/or aberrant behavior. Dr. Gordon is licensed in Tennessee as a professional counselor. He has served as pastor for over 35 years in three states (WI, LA, TN) and is currently serving as copastor, with his wife Karen, of Dickson Church of God of Prophecy, Dickson, TN. Dr. Gordon is an ordained Bishop. He has four children, seven grandchildren, and one great-great child.

Dr. Brandon Holt – Dr. Holt received his Masters and Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Lee University. He has served as a therapist for over 10 years in various settings including emergency medical settings, psychiatric hospitals, addiction recovery, residential treatment and private practice. He currently serves as the Lee University Counseling Center Director serving college students in therapy and providing outreach and education to the Lee University Campus. He also teaches as part-time faculty in the Lee University Marriage and Family Therapy doctoral program.

Dr. Holt specializes in family systems, crisis management and trauma recovery. He is an ordained minister in the Church of God of Prophecy. He resides in Cleveland, Tennessee with his wife, Katie, and their three children: Sam, Elijah and Lily.
